Grandvalira

The superb ski area of Grandvalira is the largest skiable domain in the Pyrenees and southern Europe. Since expanding slightly in 2011, and again in 2012, it now offers 210km of linked runs on one lift pass. Grandvalira encompasses six resorts in total, stretching from Pas de la Casa which sits on the French border, right across to Encamp which is just a few kilometres outside the capital Andorra la Vella.  Along the way you will encounter the sectors of Grau Roig, Peretol, Soldeu, El Tarter and Canillo resulting in a vast domain encompassing much of the north and east of the country.

"Can’t get enough skiing here! You can set off in the morning and head back late afternoon and never ski the same run twice!"Josh Bednall, Solihull, UK

Grandvalira was originally formed in 2003 when the neighbouring ski areas of Soldeu - El Tarter and Pas de la Casa - Grau Roig merged, this long-awaited collaboration was a great success and the domain we now know as Grandvalira was born. There has been significant investment in the Grandvalira ski resort in recent years with new modern lift systems installed allowing skiers to travel easily and efficiently across the area, and an increase in snow cannons means that snowmaking facilities are available across an impressive 65% of the domain. The quality facilities on offer regularly attract top level international competitions, including the FIS World Cup finals, the Alpine Skiing World Cup and the Speed Skiing World Championships as well as a number of exciting Freestyle events.

Look out for our special offers when booking your Grandvalira lift pass - exclusively for pre-booking.

Grandvalira places an emphasis on the whole holiday experience, with seven ski and snowboard schools catering for all levels and even a Freestyle centre offering customised camps available in the El Tarter sector. Families and young children are well looked after with a number of childcare centres and snow garden courses on offer, as well as special themed children’s areas throughout the domain. Those looking to take a break after a fun morning exploring the slopes are never too far from a watering hole or eatery, with a la carte, self-service and fast food restaurants on offer across the whole Grandvalira ski resort. Not to be missed are the atmospheric igloo bars and the magnificent ice hotel which is painstakingly re-built every year in Grandvalira Grau Roig.

Away from the slopes you can check out the extensive activities programme, where amongst other things you can enjoy snowmobiling, mushing, groomer rides, snowshoeing and igloo building.
