Soldeu is a very popular resort for families for a few reasons – the school has lots of British & Irish ski instructors so it’s easier for children to learn, the bars & restaurants are nearly all family friendly, and there is a good selection of self catering accommodation to choose from.
If you normally stay in hotels when you go on holiday because you’d rather let someone else do the cooking, don’t let that put you off – just because you choose an apartment doesn’t mean that you have to eat in all the time! Generally in an apartment you’ll find you’ll hav more space than if you book a hotel room because you’ve got more than just one room – you can spread out a little more and it’s great to be able to put the kids to bed and relax in the living area knowing you can look in on them if you need to.
Choice of Food
If you or your children are fussy eaters, or if you’re coming away on a tight budget, then having the flexibility to cook what you want and when you want can be a real bonus. As mentioned above, just because you’ll have cooking facilities doesn’t mean that you have to cook every night, but it makes it much easier if you want to make a packed lunch to take on the slopes or snack whilst you’re getting changed for a night out.
Soldeu has several small supermarkets which stock enough of a variety of food to satisfy most families, however you can take a bus into Andorra la Vella if you wanted to do a “big shop”.

The range of apartments available in Soldeu has improved over the past few years and you can now choose from basic through to excellent quality with both private apartments available to rent as well as blocks of tourist apartments. If you’re a larger family then maybe Apartments Casa Nova would suit you with three separate bedrooms plus they are located right in the centre of town. If you’re looking for something smaller then La Pleta de Soldeu have small studio apartments (sleep in the lounge) right the way through to apartments sleeping eight.
