Soldeu and Grandvalira ski area in Andorra
Andorra Resorts

Andorra is a tiny landlocked country in the eastern Pyrenees, between France and Spain. It's governed as a co-principality, with the heads of state being the President of France and the Bishop of Urgell. There's no airport in the country — most visitors fly into Barcelona, Toulouse or Girona and take a transfer of three to four hours up into the mountains.

Andorra is one hour ahead of UK time — the same as France and Spain.

Catalan is the official language. Spanish, French and Portuguese are also widely spoken, and you'll find English in most hotels, ski schools, bars and restaurants in the ski resorts.

Andorra uses the Euro (€). Most places accept card payments, and there are ATMs in every resort and along the main valley road.

Yes — a full passport, valid for the duration of your stay. Andorra isn't in the EU or Schengen, so you'll pass border controls coming in from France or Spain. Allow a little extra time at busy periods, particularly Saturdays in peak season.

No — Andorra is an independent country, not a member of the EU. It uses the Euro through a monetary agreement, but it has its own customs allowances, which is why duty-free shopping is such a big draw.

Andorra uses the standard two-pin European socket. Adaptors are easy to find in supermarkets across every resort if you forget to pack one.

Mountain weather changes fast — sunny and cold one minute, snowing the next. Andorra has an excellent snow record overall, and all three ski areas run extensive snowmaking. Check the forecast in the few days before your trip rather than weeks ahead.

Layers are the secret — the weather changes fast on the mountain. Bring base layers, a waterproof and windproof jacket, salopettes, ski socks, gloves, a hat or helmet, goggles and sunglasses. Our What to Wear guide goes into more detail.

We're an independent Andorra ski-holiday specialist, based in resort. We started with Arinsal.co.uk in November 2007, added Pasdelacasa.com in January 2009 and Soldeu.com in March 2009 — all three resort sites sit under the Andorra Resorts umbrella. See our About page for the full story.

Flights aside, you can book your whole Andorra trip with us — airport transfers, accommodation, lift passes, ski school (group and private lessons), ski hire and group bookings. You can book just one piece or build the whole trip in one go.

Not at all. Book just transfers, or just a lift pass, or the full package — whatever fits. The booking tools at the top of every page let you add pieces as you go.

Free cancellation is available on most ski extras up to 21 days before your start date, with optional cancellation protection extending to 3 days before. Accommodation cancellation terms are set by Booking.com on each property. See our Peace of Mind page for the full details.

Yes — we have team members in both the Grandvalira and Pal-Arinsal ski areas through the winter season. They ski the slopes daily, know the resorts inside out, and can help with bookings, recommendations and on-the-ground support.

Yes — we specialise in groups of 10 or more, with a dedicated coordinator, an online payment portal that lets each member pay their own share, and tailored ski-pack pricing. See our Groups page for what's included.

It comes down to preference and budget. Group lessons are sociable and you'll meet other skiers at a similar level; private lessons tend to get you progressing faster, especially as a beginner. Both are bookable through us.

Drop us a message via the Contact page, or use the chat widget on any page. We aim to come back to enquiries the same day in season.
