If you are anything like me, you don’t buy anything on the internet without reading through the reviews online and checking the rating first, booking a hotel is certainly no different!  We now have access to hundreds of opinions that allow us to form a decision if it’s the right place for us.

That’s why if you are thinking of staying in Pas de la Casa you’d be mad to overlook the Hotel Les Truites.  With an impressive score of 9.5 on booking.com, this 3* small and family run hotel is situated right in the heart of the resort and really has everything you need to contribute to a memorable holiday.

So what brings in the impressive scores?  It’s the attention to detail and the personalised service which makes the experience at Hotel Les Truites.  When I first stayed there, on check in I was personally shown to my room to ensure I was comfortable with all the facilities which is a rare occurrence in modern hotels.  It instantly made me feel like a guest, rather than another number on the reservation sheet.

The rooms are modern and well decorated, but most importantly if you do fancy an early night to get up on the first lifts in the morning then the rooms offer soundproofing and the beds are frequently rated as very comfy – the perfect combination to ensure a good night’s sleep.  Even though you are in an excellent location in the heart of Pas de la Casa, it won’t feel that way when your head hits the pillow.

What really drew me to the hotel though, and it’s only a small detail, but in the morning they cook your toast and bacon on the open fire located in the cosy hotel dining room.  I found this a really unique, charming and engaging feature that is certainly memorable.  Offering everything else you’d expect from a traditional continental breakfast as well, it’s the extra detail that sets this hotel apart from the others.

Staying in a hotel in Pas de la Casa gives you full access to the Grandvalira ski area boasting a very impressive 210km of piste.  You can explore the fully linked sectors of Pas de la Casa, Grau Roig, Soldeu, El Tarter, Encamp and Canillo with one lift pass and without ever having to take your skis off! Grandvalira will be home to the 2019 FIS World Cup.

Very high scores and reviews don’t happen by accident, and to see them consistent across all categories is quite rare.  Even frequent travellers to Pas de la Casa may have not come across this little gem yet so if you are planning a trip to Pas de la Casa (in the winter or summer) then we’d strongly recommend looking at staying at the Hotel Les Truites – you won’t be disappointed.  If you don’t believe me, just check out the scores for yourself.  For more information get in touch
