One of the best ways to budget while on a ski holiday is to know exactly how much your lunch stop is going to cost. Eating on the mountain has got a reputation for being incredibly expensive but it doesn’t have to be. With Vallnord Pal-Arinsal’s lift pass and lunch offer you can get a sandwich, fries and soft drink for over 25% cheaper than you would pay in resort… and you get a choice of restaurants you can choose from as well!
How does it work?
The lift pass and lunch offer is only available through pre-booking and it has to be added at the time of booking your lift pass (it can not be added afterwards). By selecting this offer, when you collect your lift pass you will also get a lunch voucher for each day of your duration – vouchers aren’t for a set day. This offer is only available for a four, five or six day duration.
How do I book this offer?
This ‘lift pass and lunch’ offer can not be purchased in resort and can only be pre-booked online three days before coming to resort. You can do so via our Arinsal booking website. There is an option that says, ‘Add lunch’, so make sure to click on the checkbox to add it to your basket.
Where can I use my lunch vouchers?
Below is a guide as to where you can use your lunch vouchers in both Arinsal and Pal, along with where they are situated on the mountain.
Green run (G)
Blue run (B)
Red run (R)
The Terrace Ski & Lounge
Location: Situated to the right of the ski school office in Arinsal.
How to get there: This restaurant is walking distance from when you step off the Gondola or the Josep Serra chairlift in Arinsal. You just need to head up the stairs directly in front of you and then take a left passed the ski school office. If you are skiing on the mountain, you will come across this restaurant at the bottom of the Les Fonts (b) or the Bony (r) run.
Great for: As the name suggests, it has a fantastic terrace that overlooks the slopes which is perfect for those sunny blue bird days. It also has an inside area for when the temperatures are slightly cooler. Very easily accessible to all and a great meeting point for all. Always has music playing too, so has a great atmosphere.
Xalet Igloo bar
Location: Next to the Snow Park.
How to get there: Once you have got either the gondola or the 6-man Josep Serra chairlift up to the mountain, walk to the left, past the Vallnord office, where you will come across the Les Fonts chairlift. This is situated at the top of the chairlift.
Great for: This is the highest bar on the slopes, and as it has a terrace you have a fantastic view of those in the snow park and everyone trying out their tricks. You also have a great view of the Port Vell (b) run.
Location: Based half-way down the Port Vell (b) run
How to get there: Get the 6-man Les Fonts chairlift, to the left of the Gondola, up to the top. Ski down the Port Vell (b) run which is not the first run you see when you get off the lift, but the second run which comes after the snow park. Continue to ski passed the Port Negre chair lift until you come across Obelix.
Great for: Obelix has a terrace so you can overlook the beautiful scenery of the surrounding mountain. It always has upbeat music playing, providing a fantastic atmosphere. It has deck chairs out the front, so you can enjoy a hot chocolate whilst in the sun. Really quick service also.
Location: Located opposite the magic carpet
How to get there: Once you get to the top of gondola or the Josep Serra six-man chairlift up, go up the set of stairs in front of you and to your right you will see the Derby Deli bar.
Great for: This bar is very near the ski school meeting points and the nursery slope. There are also tables and deck chairs outside, giving you a fantastic view of the Bony (r) and the Les Fonts (b) run. It is also a great meeting point as it is very central to the resort. Their loaded fries are fantastic!
Location: Based just to the left of when you get off the la Massana gondola.
How to get there: Once you get off the gondola, walk down the ramp and past the Pekepark. This bar is right on your left, opposite the La Caubella chairlift. If you are coming over from the cablecart from Arinsal, you will come across this bar at the bottom of the El Planell (g) run.
Great for: This is fantastic for skiiers and boarders that want a quick bite to eat without missing out on too much time on the slopes!
Pla de la Cot
Location: At the top of the La Serra I chairlift or the end of the Cami Superior (b) run
How to get there: Once you have gone up the gondola from la Massana, we recommend taking the two-man chairlift just passed the Pekepark called La Serra I. This will take you directly to the restaurant. If you have just got the cable cart over from Arinsal, then take the Coll de la Botella chair lift up and ski all the way down the Cami Superior (b) slope and this will bring you to the Pla de la Cot.
Great for: This restaurant-bar is a perfect meeting point as it is central to the whole of Pal. It has a brilliant outdoor terrace that allows you to overlook a variety of slopes. This place does fantastic hot chocolate and always has upbeat music playing too. Known for its hamburgers!
Coll de la Botella
Location: To the left-hand side of the cable cart that brings you over from Arinsal.
How to get there: Accessible from Arinsal via the cable cart link or at the very bottom of the Coll de la Botella (b) run which starts at the top of the La Tossa draglift.
Great for: This restaurant is made up of three sections: the fast-food grill, the café for more of a relaxed vibe and the bistro restaurant which specialises in mountain cuisine. The café is where this deal can be used. Coll de la Botella has a huge terrace that the sun touches and is ideal to go after a day full of sports.
