Wine, Tapas and Good Times.

We were very lucky over Christmas be invited to a brand-new experience held in Andorra La Vella.

CuriosiTours Andorra have over 10 years of knowledge and you could tell our host Abi was passionate and familiar with the capital.  She was bubbling over with interesting facts about this beautiful city and it was great to be in her company.

Our walking tour of Andorra la Vella started in style as we were picked up in Arinsal in a taxi at 18.30 sharp.  We made our way to the highest capital city in Europe, which took around 20 minutes.   In our opinion this place is always just gorgeous but with the extra special Christmas lights and displays, it was truly magical to wander through the dainty cobbled streets with Abi as she told us about the history of the centre.

We were guided around the municipality, learning about old traditions and institutions of Andorra.  Abi also had some great personal recommendations about the best places to eat and drink.  We also walked along the glittering high street and the abundance of tax-free shopping.  It was explained to us that CuriosiTours offers free time for shopping on this trip if anyone prefers this option.  I really enjoyed soaking up the culture and learning about the customs, as much as the shops were tempting!

We arrived at Don Dennis, our final stop for the evening.  Greeted by friendly staff that Abi told us had worked here for over 20 years, we knew instantly that we would be in good hands.  They led us to a table in a private corner and were treated to a huge feast of tapas with plenty of top quality, free-flowing wine.  We all agreed we had lost count of the dishes, and each one was as delicious as the last.  We learned a little about the history of tapas and each dish, but most of all we really had a great time in the enchanting ambiance of the restaurant.  Somehow, we managed to fit in dessert, chocolates, coffee and a glass of cava before our tour sadly came to a close.

Our taxis were waiting for us as we left to escort us right back to Arinsal.  The tapas tour in Andorra la Vella usually runs on a Thursday evening but if there are enough participants it can be flexible.
