As Andorra doesn't have its own airport you have a good choice of airports to fly to, which means an even wider choice of regional airports to fly from. The main airports for Andorra are:
As you can fly to a number of airports, Andorra is extremely well served by airlines from the UK and worldwide, therefore flight options for travellers are extensive and varied. In order to help you make a better informed decision regarding your holiday we have outlined below the main airports serving Andorra with various points for consideration.
This is by far the most popular airport for independent travellers visiting Andorra due to the large number of both national carriers and low cost airlines serving the destination. Barcelona is a large international airport with two terminals and is the second busiest airport in Spain. Bus connections to Andorra are regular with eight daily shuttle bus transfers as well as many car hire companies located at the airport. The road connecting Barcelona to Andorra is fairly smooth and makes for a relatively easy transfer to Andorra.
There are a good range of flight options into Toulouse including low cost airlines such as easyJet and Flybe. There are daily shuttle bus transfers serving Andorra however these are more limited than Barcelona and run three times per day. It is worth noting that the road connecting Toulouse to Andorra is mountainous in places and can be affected by heavy snow, in very extreme conditions part of the road may be closed which can result in cancelled transfers. In rare circumstances you may have to make alternative travel arrangements via Spain.
A small and relatively basic airport primarily served from the UK and other parts of Europe by low cost carrier Ryanair. Much like its neighbouring airport Barcelona, the transfer route up from Girona is usually straightforward, although it is a little further in distance.
Whilst Barcelona, Toulouse and Girona are the main flight options for Andorra, those of you willing to consider a private transfer or car hire can also take advantage of flights into Lleida, Reus, Carcassonne and Perpignan. All are within reach of Andorra and whilst they are much less popular options, they may open up a wider range of regional flights from the UK and other locations.
