Getting Around Andorra: Your Guide to Transport in Resort

Getting Around Andorra: Your Guide to Transport in Resort: When planning your ski or mountain adventure in Andorra, it’s easy to focus on the slopes—but knowing how to get around once you’re in the resort is just as important. From free and local buses to taxis and handy apps, Andorra offers plenty of options to make travel around the country simple and stress-free.

Note: This blog focuses on transport within Andorra. If you’re looking for information on airport transfers or travel to Andorra from neighbouring countries, check out our website guide.

Mou-te App: Track Local and Public Buses

The Mou-te app is a must-have for anyone relying on public transport in Andorra. This user-friendly app allows you to track local and public buses (Yellow Buses) in real time, helping you plan your journeys with ease. Whether you’re hopping between towns or heading up the mountain, Mou-te keeps you informed of schedules and delays.

Free In-Resort Buses

Many of Andorra’s ski resorts offer free bus services for guests with a valid lift pass, making it easy to get around without extra cost. For example, you can travel between La Massana and Arinsal, or between Soldeu and El Tarter, with no need to worry about parking or taxis. These buses are both convenient and eco-friendly, helping you move between resort areas stress-free.

In addition, during peak times of the season, Grandvalira operates free shuttle buses that connect both the Grandvalira Ski Area and the Pal-Arinsal Area with Ordino Arcalís. This is a popular option for skiers and snowboarders wanting to explore multiple areas of Andorra – especially since Arcalís is included on all types of lift pass (both Grandvalira and Nord passes).

For the 2025–26 season, free shuttle services to Ordino Arcalís will operate on specific days using two dedicated routes:

  • Yellow Line: Arinsal – La Massana – Ordino Arcalís
  • Blue Line: Pas de la Casa – La Massana – Ordino Arcalís

The Yellow Line has been running since 26th December, operating every Friday throughout the 2025–26 season.
The Blue Line has been running since 25th December, operating every Thursday throughout the 2025–26 season.

Both services are completely free, but prior online reservation is required to guarantee your seat. Reservations can be made up to one week in advance and until the day before travel, here.

These buses remain a popular option for skiers and snowboarders wanting to explore multiple ski areas, especially as Ordino Arcalís is included on all Grandvalira and Nord lift passes.

Taxis and City Xerpa

Taxis are widely available throughout Andorra and provide a reliable way to get around if you prefer a more direct and private option. You can arrange one easily by asking your hotel reception for assistance or by contacting us directly at info@andorraresorts.com.

For added convenience, the City Xerpa app offers a modern alternative. Similar to Uber, it allows you to book taxis directly from your phone, as well as order food deliveries. This makes it especially useful for visitors who want flexibility without needing to track down taxi numbers or stands.

When using City Xerpa, we recommend booking in advance or at least checking availability an hour before you need the taxi, particularly during busy times such as 8:00–9:00am or 4:00–6:00pm. This helps avoid delays and ensures you arrive on time for your plans.

Private Shuttle Services between Resorts

If you’d like to travel between resorts at times when the free Grandvalira buses aren’t running—for example, from Arinsal to Arcalís or from Arinsal to Grandvalira—you can usually arrange a shuttle service once you’re in resort. These are often organised through local transport providers or can sometimes be booked directly via your accommodation, subject to availability.

For more information or assistance with arranging a shuttle during your stay, feel free to contact us via email at info@andorraresorts.com.

Parking in Andorra

If you’re travelling to Andorra by car, parking is generally straightforward, but it helps to know the rules and options available across the resorts. Knowing where to park in advance can make a big difference to your day—especially if you’re travelling as a family with children, as convenient parking close to lifts or facilities can save a lot of time and hassle.

Free Car Parks

  • Arinsal: Most of the parking in Arinsal is completely free, both at the bottom of the gondola and at the top.
  • El Tarter: A large free car park is available close to the lifts.
  • Encamp: There’s a large free car park here, located a short bus ride from the Funicamp gondola. From the car park, you can hop on the Funibus (free with your lift pass) straight to the gondola.
  • Arcalís: Parking by the Arcalís ski station is also completely free, making it a very convenient option if you’re heading up there for the day.

Street Parking

  • Blue lines: Indicate pay-at-machine parking. Always check the signage carefully for time limits and pricing.
  • White lines: Indicate free parking, but it’s always wise to double-check for machines to avoid fines.
  • Pricing: Street parking usually costs between €1–3 per hour, though this varies by area.

Discounts with Lift Pass

Some Grandvalira car parks, such as the Soldeu gondola car park, offer discounted rates when you scan your lift pass at the machine when paying. The pass must be valid for the same day and must have been used for skiing that day.

Indoor Car Parks

For more security or overnight parking, you’ll also find a number of indoor car parks across Andorra. Examples include:

  • Pas de la Casa: Several centrally located multi-storey car parks.
  • Encamp: Indoor car parks close to the Funicamp area.
  • La Massana (Pal-Arinsal area): Covered car parks near the gondola base station.

You can find details such as hourly rates and overnight options for these car parks directly on Google Maps, making it easy to plan ahead.

Hotel Parking

It’s also worth checking with your hotel to see if they offer on-site parking. However, do keep in mind that hotel parking charges are often higher, so external car parks can sometimes work out cheaper overall.
