Grandvalira is a vast ski domain occupying much of the north-eastern territory of Andorra — 215km of pistes across seven linked sectors: Pas de la Casa, Grau Roig, Peretol, Soldeu, El Tarter, Canillo and Encamp. All seven are connected by an extensive lift system, so one pass covers the whole mountain.
With 123 runs, 67 hands-free lifts and specialist beginner areas in every sector, there's a huge choice of skiing and snowboarding for all abilities — and your Grandvalira lift pass also includes skiing at Pal-Arinsal and Ordino-Arcalís.

Beginners — Room to Learn Everywhere
Every sector of Grandvalira has a specialist beginner area, so you're never far from gentle terrain — 15 green runs and dedicated learning zones with magic carpets and slow-speed lifts. The Espiolets plateau above Soldeu is one of the biggest nursery areas in the Pyrenees, and once you're moving, long confidence-building greens and blues let you cover real distance early in your skiing life.
Intermediates — The Full Circuit
This is where Grandvalira really shines. With 48 blues and 38 reds spread across seven sectors, you can plan proper full-mountain days — set off after breakfast, lunch in a different sector, and tour home in the afternoon. The character keeps changing too, from the high open bowls around Pas de la Casa and Grau Roig to the wooded valley runs above Soldeu, El Tarter and Canillo.
Advanced — World Cup Pedigree
There are 22 black runs to hunt down, headlined by the Avet at Soldeu — a regular host of World Cup races — and the steeps around Pas de la Casa. Freestylers are spoiled: El Tarter has Grandvalira's largest snowpark, Grau Roig's Snowpark Xavi suits beginner-to-intermediate freestylers, and Sunset Park Peretol is the only floodlit night-time snowpark in the Pyrenees.
Every Grandvalira lift is hands-free — your pass has an embedded chip, so leave it in a pocket and walk straight through the gates. The pass also includes skiing at Pal-Arinsal and Ordino-Arcalís.
Where to stay
Five resorts along the mountain.
Grandvalira is served by five resort towns, each with its own character — from the nightlife of Pas de la Casa to the upmarket hotels of Soldeu and the best-value bases of Encamp and Canillo. The ski area also has two further sectors with no village at the bottom: Grau Roig, an unspoilt favourite worth a page of its own, and Peretol, home of the night-time snowpark.

Five resort towns
Grandvalira is served by a string of resort towns along the valley. Soldeu, El Tarter, Canillo and Encamp all have gondolas straight into the ski area — Encamp's Funicamp whisks you to the heart of the domain in under 20 minutes — while Pas de la Casa offers true doorstep skiing on the French border.
Driving
The main CG-2 road links every base town, and there's parking at all the lift stations. As anywhere in the mountains, be prepared to drive in adverse weather conditions after fresh snowfall.
