Coats For Cardiff Launches

This Autumn the team behind Andorra Resorts and Destination Ski team, alongside the help of local businesses, are launching Coats For Cardiff – a scheme asking local people to donate unwanted ski jackets so that they can then be distributed amongst the rough sleeping population of Cardiff.

With our offices situated in the centre of the Welsh capital, we are reminded daily of the difficulties that the rough sleeping community face, dealing with the harsh and unforgiving conditions that the colder months bring.

We are appealing to anyone in Cardiff (or the surrounding areas) that if you have an unwanted ski jacket just taking up wardrobe space and collecting dust then please donate it and let it be put to good use.

We are opening a pop-up collection centre on the 19th & 20th of October at 12 Morgan Arcade, The Hayes, CARDIFF and will be open from 10:00 – 16:00 both days ready to accept your unwanted ski gear.  We’re asking that the jackets be specifically for extreme weather conditions and still be in reasonable working condition (not ripped or broken).

As an incentive and thank you, we have linked up with Coyoti Ski, Cowbridge to offer anyone that donates a jacket 10% off a new one but not only that, they’ll also get £100 discount off a ski holiday* booked through Destination Ski.  (Selected holidays and conditions apply).

“As a ski-specialist company, unforgiving conditions is something we are used to but you’d never think about being out there in unsuitable clothing. Some people don’t have that luxury.”

With the support of David Barnes Dry Cleaning and Laundry, Cardiff, we will be cleaning and re-waterproofing the jackets then working alongside The Wallich, a Welsh charity for the homeless, the jackets will then be distributed via their street team who are out and offer assistance 365 days a year.

Hopefully these specialised jackets can help protect some vulnerable people over the harsh and unforgiving winter months.

If you are local to the area, or know someone who is, please let them know and help us spread the word.  Every coat we receive could make a huge difference.  Thank you.
