New Snowsports Forum

The team behind Andorra Resorts have just launched a new snowsports community website called We.Ski.  It’s a place where you can talk about all things snow – skiing, snowboarding, the latest gear, the weather – plus you can share photos and videos of the mountains.  To go with the launch We.Ski is also running a competition until February 14th giving away a ski holiday as well as £500 of vouchers to spend at Ellis Brigham! ‘Cheap’ Ski Insurance is a False Economy

One of the biggest mistakes skiers can make is buying the cheapest ski insurance, says Ski Insurance specialist MPI Brokers. It warns that saving a few pounds on an insurance premium can be a costly mistake if there is an accident during a trip to the mountains.

If you’re heading to Arinsal this winter then look out for our new meeting point, located at Apartments Sant Moritz in the centre of the village, just 50 metres from the gondola.  For those of you who booked early your vouchers may still say “The Bull Bar” but for this winter we now have a new dedicated meeting point. They have modernised the old station by extending a new building over the top and tidying up the surrounding area, plus the addition of new ticket windows to speed up getting on the mountain. Car Hire: Driving Licence Changes

If you’re planning on hiring a car for your next ski holiday to Andorra then make sure you’re aware of the forthcoming changes to UK driving licences.  From 8th June 2015 the paper part of the licence will no longer be valid, so instead before you travel you’ll need to get a one-time code from the DVLA website which enables you to share an online version of your licence which would show your entitlement to drive plus any points you may have. Huge Snowfall in Andorra

The past 36 hours have seen huge snowfall across Andorra with around 50cm at resort level and up to 100cm on the slopes.  This evening the snow continues to fall, and with temperatures set to fall as low as -21 celcius on Monday it looks like it’s going to be a great start to the New Year, albeit a little chilly!

There has been some disruption to travel with access to Andorra via the French border being closed today, however the snowploughs have been out in force making sure the roads are in a good condition for the influx of tourists heading to Andorra for New Year. (more…)
