Grandvalira hosts the 12th edition of the Total Fight Masters of Freestyle with the best Snowboard (March 24th to 26th) and Freeski (March 31st to April 2nd) riders taking to El Tarter Snowpark for two spectacular weekends of competitions.  It’s well worth heading to the El Tarter sector to watch these amazing riders in action! This month sees the return of World Cup ski racing to Grandvalira, showcasing the superb world-class facilities on offer.  Not only will we get to see top class racing but also a range of events surrounding the racing, making it an ideal time to experience the hospitality of Andorra.  The racing is Women’s Super-G and Slalom, both of which are very technical and a great spectacle to watch.  Here is the timetable for the weekend: (more…)

Dog Sledding & Puppies

Today we had a team outing to go dog sledding in El Tarter, one of the fantastic apres ski activities you can enjoy when you visit Grandvalira.  After arriving at the top of the Tarter Gondola we could already hear the barking of the dogs in the distance, with a five minute walk across the snow we could see the excitable dogs getting ready to whisk their next customers off around their track. Andorra Enjoys Snowy Start To Season

So we’re a month into the 2015-16 season and Andorra has enjoyed some of the best skiing in Europe during December, currently with 220km of slopes open across Grandvalira and Vallnord.  The season got off to a superb start, with both areas opening as scheduled on 28th November with further snowfall in early December. Grandvalira have been really busy this last month renovating the bottom gondola station in El Tarter. They have modernised the old station by extending a new building over the top and tidying up the surrounding area, plus the addition of new ticket windows to speed up getting on the mountain. (more…)
