On Monday 22nd April we’ll be hitting the slopes for the last time this season. After that, we’ll sadly have a long, agonising wait until Grandvalira reopens in December. Here is a round up of the 2018/19 season and all the fantastic events that took place.
Sunday (17th March) the FIS World Cup Finals came to a close in Grandvalira after an exciting week which attracted around 25,000 spectators in total. This was the first time Andorra has hosted this prestigious event, which is considered by many to be the most important competition on the pro-ski tour after the Olympic Games and World Championships.
Skiing is a beautiful sport, suitable for everyone. Its always fun to get yourself on the mountain and be surrounded by nature whether you are with your family, with friends or even by yourself. However, as an extreme sport, it entails some risk as well, that’s why it is very important to be careful at all times and respect the other skiers on the mountain. There are 10 golden rules that we must all know, and above all respect so that a snow day can be both safe and fun!
If you’ve been on a ski holiday before, you’ll know that apres-ski is a huge part of the ski-resort culture and is often one of the most memorable parts of your trip, that is – if you can still remember it the next morning! Apres-ski literally means ‘after-ski’ and is used to describe the time spent socialising in bars and restaurants after a fun day on the mountain. Essentially, it’s a great way to keep the good times rolling even after you’ve finished up on the slopes. Read on to find out where’s good and what’s on in Grandvalira!

Grandvalira hosts the 12th edition of the Total Fight Masters of Freestyle with the best Snowboard (March 24th to 26th) and Freeski (March 31st to April 2nd) riders taking to El Tarter Snowpark for two spectacular weekends of competitions.
